Overview

The Work shall be completed under one Contract and consists of all labor, skill and materials required to properly construct the Project. The Project generally consists of the following primary components:CONTRACT NO. 1 - EDEN PRAIRIE BEARPATH LIFT STATION REHABILITATIONGenerally, includes the following:1. Replacement of existing concrete driveway, pad, and top slabs.2. Replacement of existing 48” valve vault with 72” diameter concrete structure.3. Replacement of existing control panels and electrical components with new control panels and electrical components, and additional electrical improvements. Control panel to be procured by Owner and installed by Contractor.4. Extension of existing site pole and antenna. 5. Site work and restoration.6. Installation of temporary bypass pumping system as needed for construction.7. Removal of existing pumps, base elbows, guide rails, and other appurtenances and reinstallation of new pumps, base elbows, guide rails, and appurtenances. 8. Replacement of existing pump access hatches with new access hatches. 9. Replacement of wet well piping, valves, and fittings.10. Replacement of valve vault piping, valves, and fittings.11. Prep and coat all process piping and pumping system appurtenances in wet well and valve vault.12. Prep and coat all interior walls of wet well and valve vault structures (Bid Alternates No. 1 and No. 2, respectively).13. Other miscellaneous improvements as described in the Contract Documents.All Bidders must certify they are a Responsible Contractor by signing a certification form stating they meet the minimum requirements under Minnesota Statute 16C.285. This form can be found in Section 00 43 29 of the project documents.Each Bid shall be accompanied by a Bidder’s Bond executed by the Bidder as principal and by a surety company authorized to do business in the State of Minnesota, payable to the City of Eden Prairie, in a sum equal to five (5) percent of the full amount of the Bid. This is to serve as a guarantee that the Bidder will enter into a Contract within 15 days of Notice of Award in accordance with the terms of the principal’s Bond and a contractor’s Bond as required by law and the regulations and determinations of the governing board for the performances of such Work. Only Bids that are accompanied by such a Bond will be considered. Bidder must be licensed for the full amount of the Bid. No Bid will be read or considered which does not fully comply with the above provisions as to bond and license.All Bids will be made on the basis of cash or check payment for such Work. The Council reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, waive any informalities in the Bids received, and further reserves the right to award the Contract in the best interest of the City. The City reserves the right to hold the three (3) lowest Bids for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days after the date of Bid opening. No bid may be withdrawn within 60 days from the date of bid-opening.
